The boundaries of the Auckland isthmus are:
- the Waitemata Harbour to the north;
- the Tamaki River to the east;
- the suburb of Otahuhu to the south and;
- the suburbs of Avondale and Blockhouse Bay and the Manukau Harbour to the west.
