Manual of temporary traffic management
Introduction
This section is designed to assist those involved in activities on Council's
roads that may affect other road users, including non-vehicular traffic.
This includes an activity that either:
- physically restricts traffic, cyclist or pedestrian flows
- disrupts accesses, parking or bus stops
- creates an unusual temporary traffic flow
- creates a visual distraction to road users (N.B. this includes
inspections)
The activity may involve work or an event. It can include activities that
take place off the road but create a temporary effect on the road e.g.
additional traffic or pedestrian flows, unloading goods, etc.
The road includes the road reserve to the side of the footpaths and traffic
lanes.
Council has developed a manual of temporary traffic management (MoTTM) that
details its requirements for undertaking these operations on their roads.
Council welcomes feedback on its management of the road network as part of
its continuous improvement process.
