Paul Manning
Managing Director, Ogilvy Metro
Paul Manning is the managing director and founder of Auckland-based
communications agency, Ogilvy Metro. Paul started the company, in 1999 at the
age of 22 with $5,000 capital and no clients.
Paul's company was formerly known as Metromedia Group, which he grew into New
Zealand's largest independent agency. In December 2006 Metromedia became part of
the world-renowned Ogilvy network.
Today Ogilvy Metro is a multi-million dollar, award-winning business with 32
staff. The NZ Herald recently described the company as "one of the hottest
up-and-coming agencies in the country".
Paul has been instrumental in the agency's growth including winning major
accounts such as BMW Group, Auckland City and Fuji Xerox. The business has also
won acclaim for its innovation and contribution to the community and as a
result, Paul was named the Ernst & Young - Young Entrepreneur of the Year
(2005).
Paul takes a keen interest in the creative sector and his company both promotes
and sponsors several of Auckland's leading creative events such as Ponsonby
Fringe Festival and Auckland Art Fair.
