Our involvement

Auckland City is committed to improving the quality of our places so that, as the city grows, our town centres, public open spaces and streetscapes reflect our vision of Auckland being a safe and exciting place to live and visit.

Auckland City takes a lead role in directing the urban design and development of the city.

To enhance our ability to do this, Auckland City has joined the Place Leaders Association of Australia, a non-profit organisation founded in 2003 to improve the quality of place-making in places of significance for visitors, residents and workers.

Through the Association, Auckland City will build our communities with the support of the best practice of public sector organisations across Australia, and the Pacific.
