Project status

The council has recently reviewed cycling and walking related budgets, leading to reprioritisation and deferral of some work. The Glen Innes walking and cycling improvement project is currently on hold and is expected to resume during the 2010-2011 financial year.

Although budget cuts will impact some aspects of the Glen Innes cycling and walking improvements project, design work has begun on the following related projects:

• construction of the foot/cycle path along the southern side of Merton Road between College Road and Morrin Road
• relocation and upgrading of pedestrian refuges on Apirana Ave
• pedestrian crossings along Line Road.

Other parts of the project are deferred until funding is available and the proposals are approved by Council.
