Hop on the bus!
Being able to read a book, do a crossword, daydream or even sleep while
travelling to work or school is just a dream for most of us - but not if you
take the bus!
Taking the bus is an easy way to get around that is cost-effective and simple
to do - and with Auckland City's new bus lane initiatives
and other bus priority measures, it is now often quicker to take a bus than to
sit in traffic in your car!
Buses can make a difference

It's a simple case of multiplication. Cars on our major arterial roads in
peak traffic carry, on average, 1.3 people. A bus can carry the same number of
people as 40 cars, using approximately one-seventh of the total fuel consumed
and taking 6 per cent of the road space.
Consider this: buses on Dominion Road and Mt Eden Road now carry 45,000
passenger trips each week. That's the equivalent of approximately 34,000 cars
NOT on those roads.
We're working hard to make the bus an attractive transport option for all
Aucklanders, if you haven't tried it for a long time, or tried it at all, take
the plunge, hop onboard and go for a stress-free ride - we think you'll be
pleasantly surprised!
