Carpark + safer parking.

CARPARK+ Safer Parking Scheme

Police Minister Annette King launched the CARPARK+ Safer Parking Scheme on 2 October 2008.

The project is being piloted until October 2010 by Auckland City Council, Waitakere City, Manukau City and Hutt City under the guidance of the Ministry of Justice’s Crime Prevention Unit.

The pilot intends to produce a national guidance document as a practical tool for operators and developers of car parking facilities. This will assist them in establishing and maintaining a safer and more secure parking environment.

The manual and assessment booklets available through this website can be used as indications of the safety standards necessary for a safer parking environment.
