Temporary parking permit
The temporary parking permit is to assist businesses where
delivery or collection of goods is likely to take longer than the time provided
by a loading zone. The permit allows delivery personnel to park close to the
delivery/pick up point.
Temporary permits are available for between 1 and 14 days.
Who qualifies for a
Parking permit?
Goods and services
vehicles and construction service/delivery vehicles that conduct delivery or
pick up of goods that take longer than the time loading zones allow.
As outlined in the Land Transport (Road User) Rule 2004 (SR 2004/427) (as at 01 August 2008)
1.6 Interpretation
Goods vehicle means a motor vehicle that is
(a) designed exclusively or principally for the carriage of goods; or
(b) used for the collection or delivery of goods in the course of trade.
Vehicles do not require a
permit from Auckland City Council to be classified as a goods and service
vehicle. However to qualify for this permit the vehicle must be used for
the collection or delivery of goods in the course of trade.
To qualify, construction service
vehicles must meet the goods and services vehicle requirements above.
