Transport projects - major
Auckland City has a package of transport solutions which aim to improve
Auckland's transport network and give people more choice in how they travel
around the city. Below is a list of some key projects we are currently working
on.

The Auckland-Manukau Eastern Transport Initiative (AMETI) is a passenger
transport, walking and cycling infrastructure and services project. It will link
Auckland and Manukau cities through the eastern suburbs of Auckland.

| Bus
priority measures |
How
buses can be given priority over other traffic on main roads into the
central business district. |
| Central
Connector |
The Central Connector is a proposed bus rapid
transit corridor connecting Britomart with Newmarket via key passenger
locations, including Auckland University and Auckland Hospital.

Road 2016 |
Dominion Road is an arterial route and a key transport
corridor in the Auckland isthmus. The widening project aims to invest in the
route as growing passenger demands require. |
| Footpath
renewal project |
What is planned for renewing the city's footpaths that are
in poor condition.

| Mt Wellington Quarry link road |
The Mt Wellington Quarry, on Lunn Avenue, is under
development as a residential subdivision. Auckland City is looking at ways
to improve access using a link road to the southeast of the quarry.

Road/Wolverton Street upgrade |
Auckland City is currently undertaking a study to evaluate
options for managing expected traffic increases along Tiverton Road and
Wolverton Street, associated with developments related to State Highway 20
(SH20) Mt Roskill.
