Transport projects - Current road works
These are road works happening around Auckland city every day. This is
because we are committed to providing the infrastructure to support Auckland as
a growing, international city. Below is a list of some key projects taking place
at the moment.

| Central Connector |
Work is currently underway
on Anzac Avenue (from the bottom end heading uphill) and part of Beach Road
and Customs Street. This work involves widening the road for buslanes,
improving pedestrian crossings and landscaping. All lanes will remain open

motorway improvements |
Three projects are under way to substantially ease Auckland's motor transport
problem in the central motorway area: the Grafton gully project, central
motorway junction improvements, and Victoria Park Tunnel. |

renewal project |
What is planned for renewing the city's footpaths that are
in poor condition.

Work starts in March to upgrade the intersection of Frank
Grey Place and Princess Street. |
| Rail
station upgrades |
Auckland Regional Transport Network Limited (ARTNL) has
announced ambitious plans to upgrade 36 rail stations. |

Remuera Road rail overbridge has reopened. |
