Map 5 (Wolverton Street)
Blockhouse Bay Road Intersection
The roundabout at the Blockhouse Bay Road intersection will be removed and
traffic lights will be installed to enhance safety and efficiency for all road
users. Traffic lights at this intersection will make it easier and safer for
pedestrians to cross the road.
The streetscape environment will be upgraded to provide new footpaths, bus
shelters, planting and lighting.
Small areas of land purchase are required in this area for widening on the
northern and southern sides of Wolverton Street.
Traffic islands will be placed on Tiverton Road and Wolverton Street to
improve vehicle safety.
Changes will be made to the entrance of the service lane on Tiverton Road (see
map 6 - Blockhouse Bay Road to Whitney Street, D for more details).
Instead of angle parking, parallel parking will be installed outside the shops
on Blockhouse Bay Road. Providing parallel parking will be safer for motorists as
vehicles won't back out into oncoming traffic. Extra on-street parking will
also be provided on Blockhouse Bay Road opposite the shops.
The indented bus stop will be relocated from the southern side to the
northern side of Blockhouse
