Map 7 (Tiverton Road)
Whitney Street intersection
The roundabout at the Tiverton Road and Whitney Street intersection will be
removed and traffic lights will be installed. This will allow local access to be
retained for Whitney Street and improve the safety of the intersection for
pedestrians and vehicles.
It will also allow for signalised pedestrian crossings to make it easier and
safer for people to cross the road.
Traffic calming measures such as speed humps will be installed on both sides
of Whitney Street. Further consultation will be undertaken with owners and
residents regarding the exact locations of the traffic calming measures.
Changes will be made to the entrance of the service lane on Tiverton Road
(see map 6 - Blockhouse Bay Road to Whitney street,
,figure D for more detail).
