Road designations
Road designations are outlined in the following:
Please note: that the only
version of this list that the Council accepts any responsibility for is the
version retained on this web site. Any subsequent modifications will be the
responsibility of the user of that information.
The current designations are:

Description |
| COPTTM level 3 |
Motorways and expressways. |
| COPTTM level 2 |
Non motorways generally carrying more than
10,000 vehicles per day. |
| Auckland City level 2 High Density Roads |
Non motorways generally carrying more than
10,000 vehicles per day, but in intensive low speed situations such as
Queen Street. |
| LRS Local Roads type A roads |
Generally
carrying less than10,000 vehicles per day but requiring direct Council control.

| LRS Local Roads type B roads |
Generally
carrying less than10,000 vehicles per day but requiring less direct Council
control - policy on this not yet implemented treat as type A roads for the
present. |
| Auckland City Access Ways |
Less than 5 metres wide, cul de sacs less than 300 metres long or blocks less than 100
metres between intersection controls. |
