Getting ready for the 2011 Rugby World Cup
All eyes will be on Auckland in 2011 when the city hosts the Rugby World Cup
and thousands of sports fans from around the world.
Based on the city's experience with the Lions' tour in 2005, the Rugby World
Cup could inject more than $200 million into Auckland's economy and be worth
more than $400 million to the country in related economic activity.
To make the most of this unique opportunity, Auckland City Council is
committed to delivering services and amenities that make Auckland an
internationally competitive and attractive city.
The CBD waterfront redevelopment is a central part of this, with many aspects
