Overview of code content
The code is divided into ten parts, each with it's own
appendices, and grouped together to reflect a top down hierarchy from
management to contractor to site control to construction specifications.
The code should be read as a whole however each part can be
treated more or less as a self contained unit dealing with different aspects.
Code intentions is about how we work together and
is aimed at strategic management policies within the stakeholder organisations.
Code intentions includes:

- Part 2 - Partnership principles and work coordination
Contractor obligations is about what can be expected
from competent construction contractors: adequate training, application of
pre-qualification criteria, maintenance and code compliance.
Contractor obligations includes:
- Part 3 - Contractor performance
- Part 4 - Training
Regulatory processes is about effective and efficient
alignment and coordination of a wide range of statutory rules, requirements and
notifications.
Regulatory processes includes:
- Part 5 - Lay position of services
- Part 6 - Consents and work approvals
- Part 7 - Quality assurance
Construction requirements is about maintaining assets at
their specified level during and after construction.
Construction requirements includes:
- Part 8 - Site construction
- Part 9 - Trench reinstatement
- Part 10 - Material specification
