Submission No. Submitter Name Relief Requested and Key Submission Points
1 Lohit Kalburgi That proposed private plan change 213 is declined.
2 Michael Geoffrey Byrne Council decline rezoning to multiuse and the owners to obtain resource consents of more extensive development on residential site, consulting with adjacent residents regarding traffic and impact on privacy, sunlight, noise, driveway access and road parking.
3 Arna and Cheryl Letica That proposed private plan change 213 is declined, specifically the rezoning from residential 6A to Mixed Use.
4 Sisters of St Joseph (Ann Patricia Neven and Margaret Ellen O'Neill) Support the proposed plan change in part.

Support the application to retain the old convent at 454 Great North Road, Grey Lynn as a heritage building.

Do not support the application to rezone the site at 454 Great North Road to Mixed Use.

5 Fiona Elizabeth Douglas That proposed private plan change 213 is declined, and that council retain the existing zoning.

Oppose the rezoning of 454 Great North Road to Mixed Use because the benefits to the Council and community will ultimately be outweighed by the inconvenience to local residents and on the safe and efficient movement of surrounding traffic flows.

6 New Zealand Historic Places Trust (Northern Regional Office) Support the proposed plan change in part, specifically the scheduling of St Josephs convent (former) in the District Plan.

That the council additionally schedule the interior and site surrounds of the former St Josephs convent.

7 Fiona Elizabeth Douglas Supports the heritage application providing the council does not issue a resource consent for alteration or removal of any part of the northern façade and the archways in future.
8 Kevin McMenamin Decline the change in zoning to Mixed Use.
9 Chaparel Investment Ltd That the proposed private plan change to a Mixed Use zoning is declined.

That the scheduling of the building allow for it's location and be extended to the building and its surrounds to further protect the historic value it currently enjoys.

That the Cupressus Macrocarpa was in a location that allowed the tree to be listed in the schedule of notable trees in the District Plan and is identified as having land mark qualities whilst removed the notation should remain as the tree was a landmark tree under the District Plan.

10 The Roman Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of Auckland Approve proposed plan change 213 subject to:
  • The addition of the former convent building to the District Plan schedule of heritage buildings;
  • Inclusion of the site surrounds and key parts of the building interior as part of the scheduling process; and
  • Application of a site specific building in relation to boundary control along the site boundary with the school and/or such controls as may be appropriate to reduce the potential for a building on the site to visually dominate and overshadow the school.
  • Such other relief as is necessary to meet the concerns expressed in this submission.

Failing the above, decline the plan change
