Explanatory notes for submission summaries
1.0 General information about the summary
- This is a summary of all decisions requested by persons making
submissions on the proposed Auckland City District Plan - Hauraki Gulf
Islands Section 2006.
- This summary has been prepared in accordance with the requirements of
clause 7, schedule 1 of the Resource Management Act 1991.
- As this is a summary of decisions requested, the actual submissions
should be referred to for a fuller understanding of the particular concerns
of each submitter.
- The following abbreviations are used in this summary:

2.0 How the summaries are organised
The summaries have been organised as follows:
Summaries are used in
this document |
| Numerical order |
This summary lists all the decisions requested in numerical
order, according to the submission number allocated by the council.
Included in this summary is the name of each submitter. |
| Miscellaneous (Misc) |
This summary lists all the decisions requested which have been
identified as 'miscellaneous' because they raise general issues
which don't directly relate to any one part of the Plan. It includes
submissions which raise issues that may be outside the scope of the
Plan. |
| Whole Plan (WP) |
This summary lists all the decisions requested which either
oppose or support the entire Plan. It includes submissions which
seek withdrawal of the Plan. |
| Text |
This summary lists all the decisions requested which:
- Relate to the text as a whole; or
- Relate directly to a particular part of the text (ie parts 1-14
of the Plan); or
- Raise a concern that about a matter that is addressed in a
particular part of the text eg
- Submissions about public consultation have been coded against
clause 1.3.7 Consultation during the preparation of the Plan;

- Submissions about resource consent processes have been coded
against clause 1.6.3.3 Resource consent processes

| Appendices (A) |
This summary lists all the decisions requested
which relate to an appendix, except that submissions which relate to
a heritage item already scheduled in the Plan, or a designated site,
are found in the 'additional limitations' summaries. Submissions
which seek to add a new scheduled items are found in this summary. |
| Annexures (An) |
This summary lists all the decisions requested which
relate to the annexures. |
Additional limitations
- inner (AL-inner)
- outer (AL-outer)
- general (AL-gen)

These summaries list all the decisions requested which
relate to any of the following:
- A scheduled item (or items), a designations, or any other
additional limitation identified by a map reference number (eg
30-12) on map 2
- The spatial extent of any other additional limitation identified
on map 2
- The spatial extent of the significant ridgeline areas identified
on map 1
The summary labelled 'Additional limitations - inner islands'
relates to the inner islands only (ie maps 1-33).
The summary labelled 'Additional limitations - outer islands'
relates to the outer islands only (ie maps 34-63).
The summary labelled 'Additional limitations - general' includes
submissions which are not specific to either the inner or the outer
islands. |

These summaries list all the decisions requested
which are about the spatial extent of a land unit or settlement area
classification. It includes submissions which seek to reclassify
land from one land unit or settlement area to another land unit or
settlement areas.
The summary labelled 'Map 1 - inner islands' relates to the inner
islands only (ie maps 1-33).
The summary labelled 'Map 1 - outer islands' relates to the outer
islands only (ie maps 34-63).
The summary labelled 'Map 1 - general' includes submissions which
are not specific to either the inner or the outer islands. |

3.0 Additional notes
This section contains some additional notes about the different types of
summaries.
3.1 Text summary
- Submissions to definitions (part 14) in the Plan - the definitions have
been numbered (1-136), and the submissions appear in that order.
- The code '10' has been used for submissions which could relate to one or
more of parts 10a, 10b, and 10c.
- The following codes have been used for submissions related to a
particular settlement area in part 10b:

3.2 Appendices summary
- The codes 'A1' or 'A2' have been used where the submissions can't be
further identified as being one of A1a-g or A2a-g.
3.3 Additional limitations summaries
- The 'location' entered in the location column, has been taken from the
information included in the submission in the first instance. Where no
street address is given by the submitter, the location given is, in most
cases, that recorded in the council's GIS system.
3.4 Map 1 summaries
- To assist users, the decisions requested which seek a reclassification
have, wherever possible, been recorded in a standard format which identifies
the location, the current land unit or settlement area in the Plan, and the
land unit or settlement area sought by the submitter.
- The 'location' entered in the location column, has been taken from the
information included in the submission in the first instance. Where no
street address is given by the submitter, the location given is, in most
cases, that recorded in the council's GIS system.
- For submissions about the sub-areas within settlement areas, see the
Text summary, part 10b, figures 10b.1 to 10b.9.
- For submissions about the spatial extent of significant ridgeline areas
(shown on map 1), see the additional limitations summaries.
