| Asset management planning |
the asset-related planning function carried out with the objective of ensuring prudent management of assets owned on behalf
of citizens. The asset management plan is the primary output of this function, which combines multi-disciplinary management
techniques (including technical and financial) over the lifecycle of the asset in the most cost effective manner to provide a
specific level of service. Auckland City is scoping the approach to asset management planning for its trees in
order to incorporate trees and their wide benefits within the Parks, open spaces and street environments asset management plan. |

the variability among living organisms from all sources. This includes diversity within species, between species and of
ecosystems |
| Ecosystem |
the complex of living organisms, their physical environment, and all their interrelationships in a particular unit of
space. An ecosystem approach is the integrated management of land, water and living resources that promotes conservation and
