7.0 Compliance and policy monitoring and review

Compliance is an important part in implementation of any policy and requirements to remove encroachments and make good the land must be followed up and enforced.

An annual report will be prepared by Community Planning detailing encroachment / private uses that have been:

  1. Identified and resolved
  2. Identified and under resolution process (together with the proposed timetable for completion of resolution)
  3. Identified and permitted to remain and
  4. Requested to be considered

This will give an appreciation of the extent of the loss / gain of public open space lands to encroachment or private use and the effectiveness of Council having addressed the issue.

Annual monitoring will culminate in a policy review three years from approval of the policy.

Review findings will be presented to the Parks and Recreation Committee.
