Rosebank Business Centre Report
<< back to contents
Introduction
The Rosebank business area has an integral function in both Auckland City and
the wider region. The Rosebank area has become an established business centre
location that supports many innovative Small Medium Enterprises (SME's) as well
as large businesses that are owned both locally and by overseas parent
companies. Growth continues to be a key characteristic of the Rosebank area
where both the number and size of businesses in the area over the last 5 years
has increased significantly.
The map below illustrates the level of concentration of businesses in the
Auckland City area based on Statistics New Zealand meshblock level analysis.
Interestingly, the Rosebank area has a high concentration density of business
units per meshblock and compares favourably with alternative business centre
locations in Auckland City.
Auckland City acknowledges the importance of the Rosebank area to the region
through the working partnership between Grant Hewison, Manager of Economic
Development at Auckland City and Perry Scarfe, President and Mike Gibson,
Secretary of the Rosebank Business Association.
Specifically, the following qualitative questions form the basis of the
report and ask:

locality of work force influence location decisions

elsewhere and why
