Rosebank Business Centre Report

Local Government Services
Overall, respondents were generally passive in their attitude towards local
government. Although a majority selected the "good" option when rating
Auckland City services some responses indicate a sense of frustration. In
relation to perceptions on transport issues affecting the area some
representative quotes include:
"Totally inadequate, no planning or management."
"Specifically Rosebank Road should be widened with a centre Island for
turning traffic."
For one respondent in particular there seems to be a deep sense of anger
towards local government.
"Council does not listen to those at the coal face or follow
instructions, they have halved road widths and wonder why congestion occurs.
Private enterprise would not survive those strategies."
The main factor for local government to consider in relation to these
findings is for it to take, as it has started to do a very proactive role where
capable in creating and preserving relationships with business groups to enhance
the economic development of the region.
