The actions included within this strategy require implementation over the next 20 years. Many initiatives require
significant financial resources that are not currently included in the council’s long term financial strategy (LTFS).
A review of the LTFS is taking place, which will involve reviewing prioritisation of existing and new capital and
operating expenditure for the next 10 years. Accordingly, the timing and funding of the new initiatives in this strategy
will be considered as part of the LTFS review and prioritised alongside other activities and projects that the council
wishes to undertake over the next 10 years. Any initiative requiring funding is subject to the normal Annual Plan
processes for approval. A full list of the actions is included in appendix two.
It is intended that this strategy should be reviewed every three to five years and at that time the priorities will
be reconsidered to give guidance to the Annual Plan and other planning processes. Any questions on this strategy or on
