Strong and healthy communities

What you said you want

You said you want a city where young people feel safe and have a sense of well-being.
What we'll do about it
  1. We'll work towards making sure the spaces and places you hang out in and the routes you use to get there, are safe, feel safe and are accessible.
  2. We'll encourage an understanding of diversity and help people become more tolerant of differences in gender, lifestyle, ethnicity and culture.
  3. We'll encourage other groups and agencies to work together, and with us, to make the city safer, crime free and to promote your well-being.
  4. We'll play our part, and encourage others, including yourselves, to look after and improve our natural and built environment for our current and future generations.
What you could do
  1. Keep yourself safe and look after your friends.
  2. Let Auckland City know if you've got concerns about safety in any of the places you hang out in.
  3. Keep the city graffiti-free.

What you said you want

What we'll do about it
  1. We'll work towards making places, parks and facilities welcoming and appropriate for your needs, so you can get out there and just do it.
  2. We'll organise fun activities across the city and encourage others to do the same.
  3. We'll encourage you to take up opportunities to participate in your local communities.
What you could do
  1. Organise events in your local area. Want some ideas or help? Get in touch with Auckland City Youth Council.
  2. Participate in your local communities, there's a lot going on.
  3. Make suggestions to Auckland City, Auckland City Youth Council and other relevant agencies about possible activities.
