Eden/Albert Community Board
The Eden/Albert community at the centre of the Auckland Isthmus, includes the popular residential suburbs
of Mt. Eden and Mt. Albert. These suburbs are in the Eden/Albert Ward, the only land-locked ward in Auckland
City. It has a population of 53,000.
The Eden/Albert community is the home of the Chamberlain Park Golf Course, rugby mecca Eden Park, Rocket
Park (a unique playground designed so it can be enjoyed by disabled children too) and the new Philips Aquatic
Centre. It has the popular St. Lukes shopping centre, the largest in Auckland, as well as colourful local
shopping centres such as Mt. Eden Village, Balmoral, Valley Road, Sandringham and Mt. Albert.
Community facilities include the Mt. Albert library at St. Lukes, the Sandringham Community House, and the
Eden Activity Centre and War Memorial Hall in Dominion Road.
