  2. Top CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES

    The minutes of the Avondale Community Board meeting held on Tuesday, 24 April 2007 to be confirmed as a true and correct record.

  3. Top EXTRAORDINARY BUSINESS

    Section 46A(7) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (as amended) states:

    "An item that is not on the agenda for a meeting may be dealt with at that meeting if-

    (a)

    The local authority by resolution so decides; and

    (b)

    The presiding member explains at the meeting at a time when it is open to the public,-

     

    (i)

    The reason why the item is not on the agenda; and

     

    (ii)

    The reason why the discussion of the item cannot be delayed until a subsequent meeting."

    Section 46A(7A) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (as amended) states:

    "Where an item is not on the agenda for a meeting,-

    (a)

    That item may be discussed at that meeting if-

     

    (i)

    That item is a minor matter relating to the general business of the local authority; and

     

    (ii)

    The presiding member explains at the beginning of the meeting, at a time when it is open to the public, that the item will be discussed at the meeting; but

    (b)

    no resolution, decision, or recommendation may be made in respect of that item except to refer that item to a subsequent meeting of the local authority for further discussion."

  4. Top PUBLIC FORUM

    A period of time (approximately 20 minutes) is set aside for members of the public to address the meeting on matters within its delegated authority. A maximum of 5 minutes per item is allowed, following which there may be questions from members.

    The following requests have been received to address the meeting:

    4.1. OLYMPIC PARK - MARK ESSEX, PROJECT MANAGER  

    Mark Essex, Project Manager, wishes to provide the Board with an update on developments at Olympic Park.

    4.2. AVONDALE PLUNKET - SUE FORGESSON, PRESIDENT OF AVONDALE PLUNKET COMMITTEE

    Ms Sue Forgesson, President of Avondale Plunket Committee, wishes to address the Board concerning premises for Avondale Plunket, including the Playgroup.

    4.3. AVONDALE SOUTH DOMAIN - ELIZABETH PERALES AND KERRY ALLINGTON

    Ellizabeth Perales and Kerry Allington wish to address the Board regarding the stream at the top end of Avondale South Domain and other associated issues.

  5. Top ONTRACK PRESENTATION - AVONDALE RAIL UPGRADE

  6. Top REQUEST FOR DISCRETIONARY FUNDING - THE TREE COUNCIL

  7. Top SLIPS 2007/2008 - SCHOOL ORGANIC COMPOSTING INITIATIVE

    Attaching a SLIPs proposal form for the School Organic Composting Initiative for which the Board approved $435 at their April 2007 meeting. The Board expressed an interest in providing funds for this initiative to more schools in the area.

    Recommending that the Board allocate an additional $1500 from its 2007/2008 SLIPs budget to enable officers to approach more schools in the area to participate in the School Organic Composting Initiative.

  11. Top SMALL LOCAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT REVIEW

    Advising the Board of the relocation of the Small Local Improvement Project (SLIPs) management to the Environment and Utility Management Group.  Tasman Research has been engaged by Environment and Utility Management to liaise with stakeholders regarding the current SLIPs process.

    Recommending that the Board nominates two Board Members to be interviewed by Tasman Research regarding improving the current SLIPs process.

  13. Top MAYOR'S COMMUNITY SAFETY AWARDS

    Providing Board Members with the opportunity to nominate members of the community who promote community safety, injury prevention, road safety and crime prevention for Auckland's Community Safety Awards.

    Nominations will be open from 11 June 2007 and close on 30 July 2007 and the awards will be presented on 6 September 2007. Four awards will be presented, and all applicants who meet the award criteria will receive a certificate recognising their contribution to safety in their community.

    Recommending that Board Members nominate members of the community for Auckland's Community Safety Awards.

  14. Top TRAFINZ CONFERENCE 2007
