The
minutes of the Avondale Community Board meeting held on Tuesday,
22 September 2009 to be confirmed as a true and correct record.
EXTRAORDINARY BUSINESS

Section 46A(7) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings
Act 1987 (as amended) states: |

"An item that is not on the agenda for a meeting may be dealt with at
that meeting if- |
|
(a) |
The local authority by resolution so decides; and |
|
(b) |
The presiding member explains at the meeting at a time when it is open
to the public,- |
|
|
(i) |
The reason why the item is not on the agenda; and |
|
|
(ii) |
The reason why the discussion of the item cannot be delayed until a
subsequent meeting." |

PUBLIC FORUM
A
period of time (approximately 20 minutes) is set aside for members of the public
to address the meeting on matters within its delegated authority. A maximum of
5 minutes per item is allowed, following which there may be questions from
members.
The
following requests have been received to address the meeting:
4.1. STATE HIGHWAY 20 (SH20) WATERVIEW CONNECTION
This
is an opportunity for members of the public to address the Board on issues
regarding the State Highway 20 Waterview connection tunnel proposal.
4.2. AVONDALE UNION PARISH - PAM ANDERTON
Mrs Pam Anderton,
Avondale Union Parish, wishes to speak to the Board in support of their
application for community board discretionary funding.
Recommending that Pam
Anderton, Avondale Union Parish, be thanked for her presentation and that the
Board consider the application at item 8.1.
4.3. TE RIRI O TE O DANCE GROUP - CHRIS DESSA (JNR) AND APII CUMMINGS
Chris Dessa (Jnr) and Apii Cummings, Te Riri O Te O Dance Group, wish to speak
to the Board in support of their application for community board discretionary
funding.
Recommending that Chris Dessa (Jnr) and Apii Cummings, Te Riri O Te O Dance
Group, be thanked for their presentation and that the Board consider the
application at item 8.2.
4.4. WEST AUCKLAND COMMUNITY TOY LIBRARY - JO FUEMANA AND ADRIENE SUTTON

Fuemana and Adriene Sutton, West Auckland Community Toy Library, wish to speak
to the Board in support of their application for community board discretionary
funding.

4.5. ROSEBANK SCHOOL TE WHANAU BI-LINGUAL UNIT - AGGIE HYLAND, SAMANTHA AMUNDSEN, PANIA TAKA-BROWN AND ANNA-MARIE NGAROPO

of their application for community board discretionary funding.

4.6. THE AUCKLAND ASTHMA SOCIETY - LINDA THOMPSON

4.7. FRIENDS OF THE WHAU - GILBERT BRAKEY
Gilbert Brakey, Friends of the Whau, wishes to speak to the Board regarding the
work conducted by the Friends of the Whau and the possibility of a SLIPs grant
from the Avondale Community Board.
Recommending that Gilbert Brakey, Friends of the Whau, be thanked for his
presentation and that the matter be discussed at item 14, Board members reports,
under Catherine Farmers report.

Board will not meet in December 2009 and January 2010. It is possible that
matters may arise between 25 November 2009 and the next Board meeting which
require urgent attention. Any decisions would be reported back to the Board at
its February 2010 meeting.
Recommending that the Board makes provision for any urgent decisions over the
summer recess.
CHAIRPERSON'S REPORT
Attaching the Chairperson's report on his submission to the Local Governance
Commission regarding Avondale and New Lynn for the Board's information
Attaching a report from Mr David Keene dated 11 October 2009, regarding the
Discgolf "Have a Go" day held in Heron Park.
Recommending that the Board receive the Chairperson's report and consider how to
proceed with the implementation of Discgolf in Heron Park.
COUNCILLORS' REPORTS
Providing Councillors with the opportunity to update the Board on projects and
issues they have been involved with since the last meeting.
This
is an information item only and if the Councillors wish any action to be taken
