  8. Top CHAIRPERSON'S REPORT

    In her final Chairperson's report, Chairperson Lorraine Wilson made reference to the highlights of her total of 24 years spent in local government at one level or another. This included seeing increased representation for the city's western districts, including Waterview, Avondale and Blockhouse Bay; the Board's SLIPs programme; calls for development of a swimming pool in Avondale; environmental planning; preservation and conservation of heritage in the ward; the support of our ward Councillors carrying the Board's concerns to the Council chamber; and the hard work done by Council staff. She thanked her fellow Board members for all their efforts over the past three years.

  9. Top COUNCILLORS' REPORTS

    Councillor Noelene Raffills commended Chairperson Lorraine Wilson and thanked her fellow Board members and Councillor Vern Walsh.

    Councillor Vern Walsh referred to proposed local body restructuring and the importance of community boards. He said it had been a privilege and honour to represent the ward over the past twelve years.

  10. Top BOARD MEMBERS' REPORTS

    Deputy Chairperson Catherine Farmer also commended Chairperson Lorraine Wilson and the other Board members and Councillors.

    Board member Kathryn Davie passed on her good wishes to her fellow Board members.

    Board member Lynlie Walsh thanked everyone for the past six years on the Board.

    Board member Duncan Macdonald also thanked everyone on the Board saying that his term had been a very interesting and rewarding experience.

    10.1. BOARD MEMBER DUNCAN MACDONALD

    That the Board recommends to the incoming Board that a plan be developed for the future and long-term sustainability of St Ninians Church Hall and, given its heritage value, officers engage at an early stage with key community stakeholders including the Avondale-Waterview Historical Society Inc.
