MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE EASTERN BAYS COMMUNITY BOARD

HELD ON MONDAY, 12 NOVEMBER 2007 AT 6.00 PM

NOTE: The Democracy advisor will chair the meeting for items 1, 2, 3 and 4. From item 5 onwards, the newly elected chairperson will chair the meeting. The Chief executive will administer the member's declarations.

1. APOLOGIES

   There were no apologies.

2. DECLARATION BY COMMUNITY BOARD MEMBERS PURSUANT TO SCHEDULE 7, CLAUSE 14, OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 2002

   The following Community board members made their declarations pursuant to Schedule 7, Clause 14, of the Local Government Act 2002:

   • Mrs Kate Cooke
   • Mr Colin Davis
   • Dr Adriana Gunder, JP
   • Mr David Roberton
   • Mrs Helen Wallace
   • Cr Doug Armstrong
   • Cr Toni Millar

3. ELECTION OF CHAIRPERSON

   The Democracy advisor called for nominations for Chairperson of the Eastern Bays Community Board. There was one nomination, that of Colin Davis.

   Moved: Gunder./.Armstrong

   That Mr Colin Davis be appointed as Chairperson of the Eastern Bays Community Board.

   CARRIED

4. DECLARATION BY CHAIRPERSON PURSUANT TO SCHEDULE 7, CLAUSE 14, OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 2002

   The Chairperson, Mr Colin Davis, made his declaration pursuant to Schedule 7, Clause 14 of the Local Government Act 2002 and assumed the chair.

5. DEPUTY CHAIRPERSON

   The Chairperson called for nominations for the position of Deputy Chairperson.  There was one nomination, that of Helen Wallace.

   Moved: Davis./.Roberton

   That Ms Helen Wallace be appointed as Deputy Chairperson of the Eastern Bays Community Board.

   CARRIED

6. GENERAL EXPLANATION OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT LEGISLATION

   Moved: Davis./.Millar

   1. That the general explanation of Local Government Legislation including laws affecting Community Boards be noted.
   2. That the Team manager, John Rodger, Democracy services, be thanked for his presentation.

   CARRIED

7. FIRST MEETING OF THE EASTERN BAYS COMMUNITY BOARD

   Moved: Davis./.Gunder

   That the first meeting of the Eastern Bays Community Board be held on Monday, 26 November 2007 in the St Ignatius Hall, 12 Kotiri St, St Heliers, commencing at 6:00pm and the general nature of the business to be brought before that meeting will be notified in the agenda.

   CARRIED

8. DECLARATION OF RESULTS OF ELECTION

   Moved: Davis./.Roberton

   That the Electoral Officer's official declaration of Results of Election and the extract from the council meeting held on 24 October 2007 confirming Councillor appointments to Community Boards, be noted.

   CARRIED

   There being no further business the Chairman declared the meeting closed at 6:30 pm.
