  2. Top CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES

    The minutes of the Eden/Albert Community Board meeting held on Tuesday, 24 April 2007 to be confirmed as a true and correct record.

  3. Top EXTRAORDINARY BUSINESS

    Section 46A(7) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (as amended) states:

    "An item that is not on the agenda for a meeting may be dealt with at that meeting if-

    (a)

    The local authority by resolution so decides; and

    (b)

    The presiding member explains at the meeting at a time when it is open to the public,-

     

    (i)

    The reason why the item is not on the agenda; and

     

    (ii)

    The reason why the discussion of the item cannot be delayed until a subsequent meeting."

    Section 46A(7A) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (as amended) states:

    "Where an item is not on the agenda for a meeting,-

    (a)

    That item may be discussed at that meeting if-

     

    (i)

    That item is a minor matter relating to the general business of the local authority; and

     

    (ii)

    The presiding member explains at the beginning of the meeting, at a time when it is open to the public, that the item will be discussed at the meeting; but

    (b)

    no resolution, decision, or recommendation may be made in respect of that item except to refer that item to a subsequent meeting of the local authority for further discussion."

  4. Top PUBLIC FORUM

    A period of time (approximately 20 minutes) is set aside for members of the public to address the meeting on matters within its delegated authority. A maximum of 5 minutes per item is allowed, following which there may be questions from members.

  5. Top WATERWAYS - NETWORK RESOURCE CONSENT PROJECT: CONSULTATION BRIEFING

    Providing an update on the network resource consent applications process and advising that the applications are currently on hold pending the Council's and Metrowater's provision of further information on the nature of the network discharges and associated activities and their effects on the environment.

    Network Consents Consultation Team members will be in attendance to provide a presentation to the Board on:

    • the stormwater and wastewater network resource consent applications;
    • the key issues associated with the stormwater and wastewater drainage networks;
    • the city-wide environmental and asset performance outcomes the community has endorsed via the LTCCP;
    • sources of information that enables board members to inform their constituents how to find out more; and
    • the consent application process and the opportunities for people to be involved through formal submissions.

    Recommending that the information be received.

  6. Top 2007 MAYOR OF AUCKLAND'S COMMUNITY SAFETY AWARDS

    Advising that the Mayor of Auckland's Community Safety Awards will be open from 11 June 2007 and providing the Board with an opportunity to nominate members of the community who deserve recognition for their work in line with the criteria outlined in the attached memorandum.

    The report writer will be in attendance to provide additional information.

    Recommending that the Board consider whether it wishes to provide nominations for the Mayor's Community Safety Awards.

  9. Top ARBOR DAY TREE PLANTING

    It is proposed to plant trees in View Road to coincide with Arbor Day during June 2007. This project has been funded by the Board via its SLIPs budget.

    Recommending that the Board approve funding from its local event funding budget of a celebration to mark the planting of trees in View Road.

  10. Top MT ALBERT ROAD/SANDRINGHAM ROAD INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS

    Attaching a report considered by the Transport and Urban Linkages committee at its 19 April 2007 meeting. The committee resolved:

    1. That the committee endorses the Mt Albert Road/Sandringham Road intersection design for public communication, noting that these improvements will assist in providing a more balanced environment for all road users, including cyclists.
    2. That the Mt Albert Road/Sandringham Road intersection improvement report be presented to the Eden/Albert and Mt Roskill Community Boards.'
    3. That the results of public open days regarding the Mt Albert Road/Sandringham Road intersection improvements be reported back to the Eden/Albert and Mt Roskill community boards and the committee.
    4. That the committee endorses the commencement of negotiations to purchase a portion of land for the Mt Albert Road/Sandringham Road intersection improvements, in excess of that already designated, on the electricity sub-station site.

    The general subject of each matter to be considered while the public is excluded, the reason for passing this resolution in relation to each matter, and the specific grounds under Section 48(1) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 for the passing of this resolution follows.

    This resolution is made in reliance on Section 48(1)(a) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 and the particular interest or interests protected by section 6 or section 7 of that Act which would be prejudiced by the holding of the whole or relevant part of the proceedings of the meeting in public, as follows:
