CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES
The minutes of the
Great Barrier Community Board meeting held on Thursday, 19 July 2007, to be
confirmed as a true and correct record.
EXTRAORDINARY BUSINESS

Section 46A(7) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings
Act 1987 (as amended) states: |
|
"An item that is not on the agenda for a meeting may be dealt with at
that meeting if- |
|
(a) |
The local authority by resolution so decides; and |
|
(b) |
The presiding member explains at the meeting at a time when it is open
to the public,- |
|
|
(i) |
The reason why the item is not on the agenda; and |
|
|
(ii) |
The reason why the discussion of the item cannot be delayed until a
subsequent meeting." |

PUBLIC FORUM
A period of time
(approximately 20 minutes) is set aside for members of the public to address the
meeting on matters within its delegated authority. A maximum of 5 minutes per
item is allowed, following which there may be questions from members.

Attaching a
memorandum responding to a number of queries made by Board Member Downie. The
Board's attention is drawn in particular to the Shoal Bay wharf parking issues.
Recommending that
the Board consider the matter of adding a supplementary sign [designating a day
or days and time] to the existing P60 signs at the Tryphena wharf which would
permit cars to park as long as they like outside of the ferry arrival and
departure times.

of motion requesting that the Manager, Transport Safety, Assets and Operations
be requested to investigate the possibility/feasibility of the employment by
council of a Great Barrier Island resident with appropriate qualifications, who
would be available on a full or part-time basis to undertake monitoring and
auditing of roading and transport projects.
Recommending that
the Board consider the notice of motion.

At its May 2007
meeting the Board delegated Board Member Downie to write to the Auckland
Regional Council requesting that Great Barrier Island not be included within the
boundaries that will be affected by Auckland's proposed regional fuel tax.
Attached are copies
of correspondence between Board Member Downie and the Auckland Regional Council,
together with further correspondence to the Ministry of Transport.
Recommending that
the Board note the correspondence.

Auckland City Council plan modification 4 and proposed Auckland Regional Council
plan change 3 supporting the continuation of the ferry and freight facilities in
