MINUTES OF THE INAUGURAL MEETING OF THE HOBSON COMMUNITY BOARD HELD ON WEDNESDAY, 7 NOVEMBER 2007 AT 6:00PM

1. APOLOGIES

   There were no apologies.

2. DECLARATION BY COMMUNITY BOARD MEMBERS PURSUANT TO SCHEDULE 7, CLAUSE 14, OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 2002

   The following Community Board Members made their declarations pursuant to Schedule 7, Clause 14, of the Local Government Act 2002:

   • Cr Aaron Bhatnagar
   • Mr Clint Bowerman
   • Cr Paul Goldsmith
   • Ms Diane Gribben
   • Ms Desley Simpson
   • Ms Hinu te Hau
   • Mr Tim Woolfield
   • Ms Frieda Yu

3. ELECTION OF CHAIRPERSON

   The Democracy advisor called for nominations for Chairperson of the Hobson Community Board. There was only one nomination, that of Desley Simpson.

   Moved: Clint Bowerman/Diane Gribben

   That Desley Simpson be appointed as Chairperson of the Hobson Community Board for the 2007 - 2010 term.

   CARRIED

4. DECLARATION BY CHAIRPERSON PURSUANT TO SCHEDULE 7, CLAUSE 14, OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 2002

   The Chairperson, Desley Simpson, made her declaration pursuant to Schedule 7, Clause 14 of the Local Government Act 2002 and assumed the chair.

5. DEPUTY CHAIRPERSON

   The Chairperson called for nominations for the position of Deputy Chairperson. There was one only nomination, that of Clint Bowerman.

   Moved: Diane Gribben/Paul Goldsmith

   That Clint Bowerman be appointed as Deputy Chairperson of the Hobson Community Board for the 2007 - 2010 term.

   CARRIED

6. GENERAL EXPLANATION OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT LEGISLATION

   Moved: Desley Simpson/Tim Woolfield

   1. That the general explanation of Local Government Legislation, including laws affecting Community Boards, be noted.
   2. That Mike Giddey, Democracy advisor, be thanked for his presentation.

   CARRIED

7. FIRST MEETING OF THE HOBSON COMMUNITY BOARD

   Moved: Desley Simpson/Diane Gribben

   That the first meeting of the Hobson Community Board be held on Wednesday, 21 November 2007 in the Jubilee Building, 545 Parnell Road, Parnell, commencing at 6.00pm and the general nature of the business to be brought before that meeting will be notified in the agenda.

   CARRIED

8. DECLARATION OF RESULTS OF ELECTION

   Moved: Desley Simpson/Tim Woolfield

   That the Electoral Officer's official declaration of Results of Election and the confirmation of Councillor appointments to Community Boards be noted.

   CARRIED

   There being no further business the Chairperson declared the meeting closed at 6:21pm.
