    4.1. CHRISTINE FOLEY - ELLERSLIE BUSINESS ASSOCIATION

    Christine Foley, Ellerslie Business Association, spoke to the Board in support of her Local Event Funding application for $3,000 towards funding for the Ellerslie Santa Parade and Street Party. This application was considered under item 13.1 on this agenda.

    4.2. SENIOR SERGEANT HIRONE WARETINI - INTRODUCTION OF COMMUNITY CONSTABLES

    Senior Sergeant Hirone Waretini was in attendance to introduce the Community Constables for Ellerslie and Onehunga to the Board.

    That Senior Sergeant Hirone Waretini be thanked by the Maungakiekie Community Board for his introduction to the Board of Ellerslie Community Constable Kylie Clark, and Onehunga Community Constable Casey Braod.

    4.3. GAIL FITZGERALD - ROCKFIELD ROAD

    Gail Fitzgerald, Rockfield Road, provided an update to the Board following her presentation in June 2007 regarding parking on footpaths, untidy bus stops, overgrown grass verges and rubbish in the Rockfield Road area.

  7. Top ONEHUNGA AND AREA PLANNING REPORT

    1. That the memorandum of the Group Manager, City Planning, dated 10 September 2007 be received.
    2. That the Maungakiekie Community Board thank the Group Manager, City Planning, for her attendance and information provided.
    3. That the Group Manager, City Planning, provide an update report to the Maungakiekie Community Board in April 2008 outlining progress of the Onehunga Area Plan, with particular reference to whether more intensive work is required in the Onehunga area, for example, from Trafalgar Street to the port, and from the Queenstown Road to Victoria Street.
    4. That the Maungakiekie Community Board are supportive of SLIPs funding being utilized for any of the intensive work in the Onehunga area, should it be required.

    2. That officers developing the draft Manukau Foreshore Reserves Management Plan be requested to present preliminary ideas to the Maungakiekie Community Board when these are available.

    2. That the results of the consultation on the proposed options for the cycle lanes in Ellerslie and Onehunga be reported to the next scheduled meeting of the Maungakiekie Community Board.

    That the report of the Manager, Planning and Policy, dated 25 June 2007, be received, and that the resolutions of the Community Development and Equity Committee, dated 11 July 2007, be noted.

  12. Top DISCRETIONARY FUNDING APPLICATIONS

    12.1. ONEHUNGA SOCCER AND SPORTS CLUB INCORPORATED

    1. That the Discretionary Funding application from Onehunga Soccer and Sports Club Incorporated seeking funding to assist with costs associated with a junior youth seven aside soccer competition be received.
    2. That the Maungakiekie Community Board grants $2,000 from its 2007/2008 Discretionary Funding budget to Onehunga Soccer and Sports Club Incorporated to assist in the costs towards a junior youth seven aside soccer competition.
    3. That Onehunga Soccer and Sports Club Incorporated provide an Accountability Statement following the expenditure of the Discretionary Funding Grant of $2,000.

    2. That the Maungakiekie Community Board grants $1,500 from its 2007/2008 Discretionary Funding budget to the Jordan Recreation Centre YMCA to assist with costs associated with creating a free activity programme for school children in the ward.
    3. That the Jordan Recreation Centre YMCA provide an Accountability Statement following the expenditure of the Discretionary Funding Grant of $1,500.

    • Attendance at the Onehunga and Ellerslie cycleways meetings; and
    • Meeting with Jim Jackson and The Onehunga Enhancement Society (TOES).

    • Ellerslie War Memorial Hall Roll of Honour;
    • Restoration and framing of the historic Ellerslie Borough council map;
    • Hanging artwork in the Onehunga Community Centre foyer;
    • Upgrade of the Onehunga car park;
