MINUTES OF THE INAUGURAL MEETING OF THE MAUNGAKIEKIE COMMUNITY BOARD HELD ON MONDAY, 12 NOVEMBER 2007 AT 6:00PM

1. APOLOGIES

   There were no apologies.

2. DECLARATION BY COMMUNITY BOARD MEMBERS PURSUANT TO SCHEDULE 7, CLAUSE 14, OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 2002

   The following Community Board Members made their declarations pursuant to Schedule 7, Clause 14, of the Local Government Act 2002:

   • Ms Olga Brochner
   • Mr Brett Clark
   • Ms Bridget Graham
   • Cr Peseta Sam Lotu I'iga
   • Ms Lynn Messervy
   • Cr Richard Northey
   • Mr Simon Randall

3. ELECTION OF CHAIRPERSON

   The Democracy advisor called for nominations for Chaiperson of the Maungakiekie Community Board. There was one nomination, that of Bridget Graham.

   Moved: Clark / Brochner

   That Bridget Graham be appointed as Chairperson of the Maungakiekie Community Board for the 2007-2010 term.

   CARRIED

4. DECLARATION BY CHAIRPERSON PURSUANT TO SCHEDULE 7, CLAUSE 14, OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 2002

   The Chairperson, Bridget Graham, made her declaration pursuant to Schedule 7, Clause 14 of the Local Government Act 2002 and assumed the chair.

5. DEPUTY CHAIRPERSON

   The Chairperson called for nominations for the position of Deputy Chairperson. There was one nomination, that of Brett Clark.

   Moved: Graham / Messervy

   That Brett Clark be appointed as Deputy Chairperson of the Maungakiekie Community Board for the 2007-2010 term.

   CARRIED

6. GENERAL EXPLANATION OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT LEGISLATION

   Moved: Graham / Clark

   1. That the general explanation of Local Government Legislation including laws affecting community boards be noted.
   2. That the Team manager, Arts Community and Recreation, Democracy Services, be thanked for her presentation.

   CARRIED

7. FIRST MEETING OF THE MAUNGAKIEKIE COMMUNITY BOARD

   Moved: Graham / Clark

   That the first meeting of the Maungakiekie Community Board be held on 26 November 2007 in the Beeson/Henderson Room, Onehunga Community Centre, 83 Church Street, Onehunga commencing at 6.00pm and that the general nature of the business to be brought before that meeting be notified in the agenda.

   CARRIED

8. DECLARATION OF RESULTS OF ELECTION

   Moved: Graham / Randall

   That the Electoral Officer's official declaration of Results of Election and the confirmation of councillor appointments to community boards be noted.

   CARRIED

   There being no further business, the Chairperson declared the meeting closed at 6.39pm.
