  1. Top APOLOGIES

  2. Top CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES

    The minutes of the Mt Roskill Community Board meeting held on Tuesday, 15 May 2007, to be confirmed as a true and correct record.

  3. Top EXTRAORDINARY BUSINESS

    Section 46A(7) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (as amended) states:

    "An item that is not on the agenda for a meeting may be dealt with at that meeting if-

    (a)

    The local authority by resolution so decides; and

    (b)

    The presiding member explains at the meeting at a time when it is open to the public,-

     

    (i)

    The reason why the item is not on the agenda; and

     

    (ii)

    The reason why the discussion of the item cannot be delayed until a subsequent meeting."

    Section 46A(7A) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (as amended) states:

    "Where an item is not on the agenda for a meeting,-

    (a)

    That item may be discussed at that meeting if-

     

    (i)

    That item is a minor matter relating to the general business of the local authority; and

     

    (ii)

    The presiding member explains at the beginning of the meeting, at a time when it is open to the public, that the item will be discussed at the meeting; but

    (b)

    no resolution, decision, or recommendation may be made in respect of that item except to refer that item to a subsequent meeting of the local authority for further discussion."

  4. Top PUBLIC FORUM

    A period of time (approximately 20 minutes) is set aside for members of the public to address the meeting on matters within its delegated authority. A maximum of 5 minutes per item is allowed, following which there may be questions from members.

    The following requests have been received to address the meeting:

    4.1. SPORT AUCKLAND - SIMON PETERSON

    Simon Peterson from Sport Auckland will provide the Board with a verbal update on Sport Auckland's activities.

    4.2. TRAFFIC AND SPEED ISSUES, SEACLIFFE ROAD -SEACLIFFE ROAD NEIGHBOURHOOD SUPPORT GROUP

    Seacliffe Road Neighbourhood Support Group representative, Tony Lane, will address the Board regarding speed and numbers of cars travelling through Seacliffe Road.

    Attached is correspondence requesting construction of a gate feature at the intersection of Seacliffe Road and Frederick Street and painting of white lines along appropriate sections of Seacliffe Road.

  6. Top 2007 MAYOR OF AUCKLAND'S COMMUNITY SAFETY AWARDS

    Advising that nominations for the Mayor's Safety Awards opened on 11 June 2007 and will close on 30 July 2007. Awards will be presented on 6 September 2007.

    Recommending that Board Members advise the Democracy Advisor of any persons in the Mt Roskill community that they would like recognised for their work in making Auckland city a safe place in which to live, work and play.

    The author of the memorandum will be in attendance at the meeting.

  7. Top MT ALBERT ROAD/SANDRINGHAM ROAD INTERSECTION UPGRADE

    Transport Planner, Paul Glucina, will provide a visual presentation of planned upgrade works at this intersection.

    Attached for the Board's information is a report that was considered by the Transport and Urban Linkages committee at its 19 April 2007 meeting. The committee resolved:

    1. That the committee endorses the Mt Albert Road/Sandringham Road intersection design for public communication, noting that these improvements will assist in providing a more balanced environment for all road users, including cyclists.
    2. That the Mt Albert Road/Sandringham Road intersection improvement report be presented to the Eden/Albert and Mt Roskill Community Boards.'
    3. That the results of public open days regarding the Mt Albert Road/Sandringham Road intersection improvements be reported back to the Eden/Albert and Mt Roskill community boards and the committee.
    4. That the committee endorses the commencement of negotiations to purchase a portion of land for the Mt Albert Road/Sandringham Road intersection improvements, in excess of that already designated, on the electricity sub-station site.

    Recommending that the information be received.

    Attaching a list of projects for consideration for funding and completion in the 2007/2008 financial year.

    The Board is reminded that this is the only opportunity to fund projects that will take a year to complete.

    The Board may notice a change in the budgets for some projects since the February meeting. The reason for this is that all SLIPs proposals were reviewed to take account of movements in market costs or changes of scope.

    Recommending that the Board allocate funding and nominate a spokesperson for each project.
