I hereby give notice that a meeting of the

MT ROSKILL COMMUNITY BOARD

will be held as follows:

1. APOLOGIES

   At the close of the agenda no apologies had been received.

2. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES

   The minutes of the Mt Roskill Community Board meeting held on Tuesday, 17 July 2007 to be confirmed as a true and correct record.

3. EXTRAORDINARY BUSINESS

   Section 46A(7) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (as amended) states:
   "An item that is not on the agenda for a meeting may be dealt with at that meeting if-
   (a)	The local authority by resolution so decides; and
   (b)	The presiding member explains at the meeting at a time when it is open to the public,-
   	(i)	The reason why the item is not on the agenda; and
   	(ii)	The reason why the discussion of the item cannot be delayed until a subsequent meeting."
   Section 46A(7A) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (as amended) states:
   "Where an item is not on the agenda for a meeting,-
   (a)	That item may be discussed at that meeting if-
   	(i)	That item is a minor matter relating to the general business of the local authority; and
   	(ii)	The presiding member explains at the beginning of the meeting, at a time when it is open to the public, that the item will be discussed at the meeting; but
   (b)	no resolution, decision, or recommendation may be made in respect of that item except to refer that item to a subsequent meeting of the local authority for further discussion."

4. PUBLIC FORUM

   A period of time (approximately 20 minutes) is set aside for members of the public to address the meeting on matters within its delegated authority. A maximum of 5 minutes per item is allowed, following which there may be questions from members.

   At the close of the agenda no requests to speak had been received.

6. DEMOLITION OF UNUSED BUILDING ON FEARON PARK

   At the 17 July Board meeting it was resolved as follows:

   That this item be deferred to the 21 August 2007 Mt Roskill Community Board meeting to allow further information to be obtained, and that an officer be in attendance at the August meeting in order to answer any questions the Board may have.

   Attaching the report for members information. Officers will be present for this item.

7. WESLEY YOUTH CENTRE

   Providing for the Board's consideration a report regarding the proposed location of the Wesley youth centre adjacent to the Wesley Community Centre.

   Recommending that the board note the proposed location of the Wesley youth centre adjacent to the Wesley Community Centre and notes that further work on options, site negotiation, costs and funding will be undertaken and reported back to the Board.

8. TAYLORS RESERVE BEACH REPLENISHMENT PROJECT

   This report was unavailable at the time the agenda went to print and will be circulated separately.

9. POLICE SUBMISSION

   Attaching the Mt Roskill Community Board submission on the Policing Directions in New Zealand for the 21st century for Board members information.

   Recommending that the submission be noted.

10. CHAIRPERSON'S REPORT

    Providing the Chair with an opportunity to update the Board on the projects and issues he has been involved with since the last meeting.

    This is an information only item and if the Chair wishes any action to be taken upon this item, a written report must be provided for inclusion in the agenda.
