CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES
The
minutes of the Mt Roskill Community Board meeting held on Tuesday, 19 August
2008 to be confirmed as a true and correct record.
EXTRAORDINARY BUSINESS
| Section 46A(7) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings
Act 1987 (as amended) states: |
| "An item that is not on the agenda for a meeting may be dealt with at
that meeting if- |
| (a) |
The local authority by resolution so decides; and |
| (b) |
The presiding member explains at the meeting at a time when it is open
to the public,- |
| |
(i) |
The reason why the item is not on the agenda; and |
| |
(ii) |
The reason why the discussion of the item cannot be delayed until a
subsequent meeting." |

PUBLIC FORUM
A
period of time (approximately 20 minutes) is set aside for members of the public
to address the meeting on matters within its delegated authority. A maximum of
5 minutes per item is allowed, following which there may be questions from
members.
The
following requests have been received to address the meeting:
4.1. HILLSBOROUGH PLAYCENTRE - MS LEONIE FARMER
Ms
Farmer wishes to speak to the Board in support of the discretionary funding
application for Hillsborough Playcentre which is placed for consideration of the
Board at Item 11 on this agenda.
Recommending that Ms Farmer be thanked for her presentation.
4.2. MT ROSKILL BAPTIST CHURCH CHILDRENS MINISTRY - ANDREA MCNICKLE
Ms
McNickle wishes to speak to the Board in support of the event funding
application for Mt Roskill Baptist Church Childrens Ministry which is placed for
consideration of the Board at Item 12 on this agenda.
Recommending that Ms McNickle be thanked for her presentation.
COMMUNITY BOARD LOCAL FUNDING 2008

round, together with a list of recommended allocations following assessment by
officers and discussion with the Board's grants spokesperson.
Recommending that the Board consider the recommendations and allocate funding

DOG ACCESS TO BEACHES AND MONTE CECILIA PARK

Reporting on the draft dogs policy and draft dog control bylaw. Following
submissions and deliberations the hearings panel would like all community boards
to make a recommendation regarding beach access for dogs and for the Mt Roskill
Community Board to indicate whether any part of Monte Cecilia park should be
designated as a dog exercise area by 30 September 2008.
Recommending that the Board consider this matter.
2009 COMMUNITY BOARDS CONFERENCE AND BEST PRACTICE AWARDS

Attaching information regarding the 2009 Community Boards Conference and Best
Practice Awards which will be held in Christchurch on 19 - 21 March 2009.
Recommending that the Board discuss whether it wishes to send a
representative(s) to the conference and enter the Best Practice Awards.
GOOD CITIZEN/VOLUNTEER AWARDS

Recommending that the Board consider holding a Good Citizen/Volunteers Award
function which will need to be funded from its discretionary funding budget.
SCHEDULING OF PROTECTED TREES

Providing a memo from officers at Auckland City Council, and a "proposal to
schedule" application form regarding the scheduling of protected trees. The
board is asked to nominate up to 25 trees within the ward for scheduling by
Friday 3 October 2008.
Recommending that the board consider any trees they may wish to schedule.
NEIGHBOURHOOD SUPPORT AUCKLAND CITY INC.

The
Mt Roskill Community Board at it's 15 April 2008 meeting considered a
discretionary funding application from Neighbourhood Support Auckland City Inc.
and resolved as follows.
That the Board approves the allocation of $3000.00 from its 2007/2008
discretionary funding budget to the Neighbourhood Support Auckland City Inc.
Society towards newspaper advertising for volunteers, for office administration
costs and volunteer travel costs and expenses.
Neighbourhood Support Auckland City Inc. has requested that the board consider
including a further resolution to include database costs for Mt Roskill data, a
Mt Roskill specific website and customised flyers for setting up street groups,
as they have not had a large amount of Mt Roskill specific volunteer costs.
Recommending that the board consider this request.
DISCRETIONARY FUNDING - HILLSBOROUGH PLAYCENTRE
Attaching a Discretionary Funding application from Hillsborough Playcentre
towards repairs to the sandpit cover and the shade sail which screens the
sandpit.
Recommending that the Board consider this application.
EVENT FUNDING - MT ROSKILL BAPTIST CHURCH CHILDRENS MINISTRY
Attaching an Event Funding application from the Mt Roskill Baptist Church
Children's Ministry towards a light party to be held on 31 October 2008.
Recommending that the Board consider this application.
CHAIRPERSON'S REPORT
Attaching a report from the Chairperson updating the Board on the projects and
issues he has been involved with since the last meeting.
Recommending that the report be received.
COUNCILLORS REPORTS
Providing the Councillors with an opportunity to update the Board on the
projects and issues they have been involved with since the last meeting.
This
is an information item only and if the Councillor wishes any action to be taken
