CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES
The
minutes of the Mt Roskill Community Board meeting held on Tuesday, 15 September
2009 to be confirmed as a true and correct record.
EXTRAORDINARY BUSINESS

Section 46A(7) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings
Act 1987 (as amended) states: |
|
"An item that is not on the agenda for a meeting may be dealt with at
that meeting if- |
|
(a) |
The local authority by resolution so decides; and |
|
(b) |
The presiding member explains at the meeting at a time when it is open
to the public,- |
|
|
(i) |
The reason why the item is not on the agenda; and |
|
|
(ii) |
The reason why the discussion of the item cannot be delayed until a
subsequent meeting." |

Section 46A(7A) of the Local Government Official Information and

"Where an item is not on the agenda for a meeting,- |

(a) |
That item may be discussed at that meeting if- |
|

(i) |
That item is a minor matter relating to the general business of the
local authority; and |
|
|
(ii) |
The presiding member explains at the beginning of the meeting, at a time
when it is open to the public, that the item will be discussed at the
meeting; but |
|
(b) |
no resolution, decision, or recommendation may be made in respect of
that item except to refer that item to a subsequent meeting of the local
authority for further discussion." |
PUBLIC FORUM
A
period of time (approximately 20 minutes) is set aside for members of the public
to address the meeting on matters within its delegated authority. A maximum of
5 minutes per item is allowed, following which there may be questions from
members.
The
following requests have been received to address the meeting:
4.1. PUBLIC FORUM - ANDREA MCNICKLE - MOUNT ROSKILL BAPTIST CHURCH
Andrea McNickle from Mt Roskill Baptist Church wishes to address the Board in
support of the church's discretionary funding application for the Roskill Kids
programme.
4.2. PUBLIC FORUM - KAREN MCCARTHY & DIANA POROVETA - WESLEY COMMUNITY CENTRE
Karen McCarthy and Diana Poroveta from the Wesley Community Centre wish to
address the Board in support of the Wesley Community Project Trust's
discretionary funding application for funding towards the centre's Christmas
event.
NEW ZEALAND FIRE SERVICE - BRIAN EDWARDS AND STEVE LARKIN
Mr
Brian Edwards, Area Manager and Mr Steve Larkin, Assistant Area Manager from the
Mt Roskill Fire Station will give a presentation regarding their work within the
community and answer questions from the Board.
Recommending that they be thanked for their attendance.
SUE BREWSTER - SPORT AUCKLAND
Sue
Brewster from Sport Auckland wishes to update the Board on developments
undertaken by Sport Auckland within the Roskill area as well as regional
developments that may have affected the area.
Recommending that Sue be thanked for her attendance.

NOTICE OF MOTION - CYCLING CONFERENCE
Attaching a notice of motion from Chairperson Barter requested funding from the
Board's training budget for attendance at the New Zealand Cycling Conference to
be held in New Plymouth in November.

USE OF COMMUNITY BOARDS' SLIPS BUDGET - RESOLUTIONS FROM FINANCE & STRATEGY COMMITTEE

Wednesday, 16 September 2009 regarding the use of community boards' SLIPs
budget.

DISCRETIONARY FUNDING
10.1. DISCRETIONARY FUNDING - CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT, THREE KINGS RESERVE
Attaching a funding application for flyers advertising the Three Kings Reserve
Carols by Candlelight event.
Recommending that the Board consider this application.
10.2. DISCRETIONARY FUNDING - CCS DISABILITY ACTION
Attaching a funding application from CCS Disability Action for assistance with
providing a community market.
Recommending that the Board consider this application.
10.3. DISCRETIONARY FUNDING - MOUNT ROSKILL GRAMMAR SCHOOL ARTIFICIAL PLAYING SURFACE TRUST
Attaching a funding application from Mount Roskill Grammar School Artificial
Playing Surface Trust for funding towards security costs.
Recommending that the Board consider this application.
10.4. DISCRETIONARY FUNDING - MOUNT ROSKILL BAPTIST CHURCH (ROSKILL KIDS)
Attaching a funding application from Mount Roskill Baptist Church (Roskill Kids)
for costs associated with holding a "Light Party"/Halloween alternative event.
Recommending that the Board consider this application.
10.5. DISCRETIONARY FUNDING - WESLEY COMMUNITY PROJECT TRUST
Attaching a funding application from Wesley Community Project Trust for funding
towards the annual Wesley Community Centre Christmas event.
Recommending that the Board consider this application.
