MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE MT ROSKILL COMMUNITY BOARD HELD ON WEDNESDAY, 7 NOVEMBER 2007 AT 6.00PM

The Democracy Advisor chaired the meeting until such time as the Chairperson was elected and sworn in.

1. APOLOGIES

   The apology from Councillor Leighton for non-attendance was noted.

2. DECLARATION BY COMMUNITY BOARD MEMBERS PURSUANT TO SCHEDULE 7, CLAUSE 14, OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 2002

   The following Community Board Members made their declarations pursuant to Schedule 7, Clause 14, of the Local Government Act 2002:

   • Richard Barter
   • Cr Graeme Mulholland
   • Sue Mulrennan
   • Joshua Taylor
   • Nicki Taylor-Raffills
   • Nigel Turnbull

3. ELECTION OF CHAIRPERSON

   The Democracy advisor called for nominations for Chairperson of the Mt Roskill Community Board.

   There was one nomination, that of Richard Barter. There being no other nominations the Democracy advisor put the motion.

   Moved: Taylor-Raffills / Mulrennan

   That Richard Barter be appointed as Chairperson of the Mt Roskill Community Board.

   CARRIED

4. DECLARATION BY CHAIRPERSON PURSUANT TO SCHEDULE 7, CLAUSE 14, OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 2002

   The Chairperson, Richard Barter, made his declaration pursuant to Schedule 7, Clause 14 of the Local Government Act 2002 and assumed the chair.

5. DEPUTY CHAIRPERSON

   The Chairperson called for nominations for the position of Deputy Chairperson.

   There was one nomination, that of Nicki Taylor-Raffills. There being no other nominations the Chairperson put the motion.

   Moved: Barter / Turnbull

   That Nicki Taylor-Raffills be appointed as Deputy Chairperson of the Mt Roskill Community Board.

   CARRIED

6. GENERAL EXPLANATION OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT LEGISLATION

   Moved: Barter / Taylor- Raffills

   1. That the general explanation of Local Government Legislation including laws affecting Community Boards be noted.
   2. That the Team manager, City Development, Democracy services, be thanked for his presentation.

   CARRIED

7. FIRST MEETING OF THE MT ROSKILL COMMUNITY BOARD

   Moved: Barter./. Taylor

   That the first meeting of the Mt Roskill Community Board be held on Wednesday, 21 November 2007 in the Tarapunga Room, Wesley Community Centre, 740 Sandringham Road extension, Mt Roskill commencing at 6:00pm.

   CARRIED

8. DECLARATION OF RESULTS OF ELECTION

   Moved: Barter./. Mulrennan

   That the Electoral Officer's official declaration of Results of Election and the confirmation of Councillor appointments to Community Boards be noted.

   CARRIED

   There being no further business the Chairperson declared the meeting closed at 6:30 pm.
