    That the minutes of the Mt Roskill Community Board meeting held on Tuesday, 16 June 2009 be confirmed as a true and correct record, subject to the following amendment to item 11:

    BOARD MEMBERS' REPORTS

    1. That the Board approves SLIPs projects as follows for the 2009/2010 financial year:
      1. Approves a budget of up to $90,000.00 for the tree planting in the Waikowhai area.

    Waikowhai area should read Wesley area.

    4.1. FUNDING APPLICATION - ROSKILL COMMUNITY TRUST - JENNY CASTON

    That Ms Jenny Caston, representing the Roskill Community Trust, be thanked for her presentation regarding the discretionary funding application at item 10 of this agenda.

    4.2. AUCKLAND CITY YOUTH COUNCIL - NIVE SHARAT CHANDRAN & PRIYANKA VICTOR

    Nive Sharat Chandran, Deputy Chair of the Auckland City Youth Council and Priyanka Victor, member of the Auckland City Youth Council spoke about their membership of the youth council and activities undertaken by it. Both are residents of Mt Roskill.

    That Nive Sharat Chandran and Priyanka Victor be thanked for their presentation regarding activities the Auckland City Youth Council has undertaken recently.

  5. Top LUDO CAMPBELL-REID, GROUP MANAGER URBAN DESIGN

    Ludo Campbell-Reid, group manager of Urban Design, provided a presentation regarding urban design and planning in Auckland city and answered questions from the board.

  6. Top ROSKILL - A PLACE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

    Board member Mulrennan tabled further information on the "Roskill - A Place For Young People" competition.

    1. That the Mt Roskill Community Board supports the proposal from chairperson Barter and board member Mulrennan regarding holding a schools competition to help make Mt Roskill a youth-friendly place.
    2. That the Mt Roskill Community Board allocates up to $3,500.00 from the Board's discretionary fund for the schools competition "Roskill - A Place For Young People".
    3. That chairperson Barter and board member Mulrennan be delegated to organise the details of the competition, "Roskill - A Place For Young People".

  7. Top UPDATE ON "NOT JUST PASSING THROUGH THE MAKING OF MT ROSKILL" BOOK

    Moved: Barter/Taylor

    1. That the Mt Roskill Community Board allocates $590.00 to cover storage costs for the six months from July to December 2009 for the Not Just Passing Through - the Making of Mt Roskill book.
    2. That the Not Just Passing Through - the Making of Mt Roskill book be provided free of charge to local schools, churches and retirement villages for a fundraising opportunity for those organisations.
    3. That the recommended selling price for the Not Just Passing Through - the Making of Mt Roskill book be $20.00 each with all proceeds going to the selling organisation for their communal benefit.
    4. That the Mt Roskill Community Board chairperson be authorised to make decisions on the further distribution of the Not Just Passing Through - the Making of Mt Roskill book.
    5. That five boxes of the Not Just Passing Through - the Making of Mt Roskill book be made available to board members to distribute within their community as appropriate.
    6. That the Mt Roskill Community Board approach the distributor with a view to purchasing the presentation boxes for the Not Just Passing Through - the Making of Mt Roskill book, and report back to the August meeting with the outcome.

  8. Top SLIPS DECISION REPORT JULY 2009

    Moved: Barter/Mulrennan

    1. That the Mt Roskill Community Board allocates the budget of $69,276.00 to the Wesley Tree Planting 2009/2010 project.
    2. That the Mt Roskill Community Board deletes the Dominion and Richardson Road Shopping Strip Concept Plan project of $20,000.00 and the scoping project of $1,500.00.
    3. That the Mt Roskill Community Board deletes the Taylor's Bay Aquatic Play Structure Scoping of $3,000.00.
    4. That the Mt Roskill Community Board expresses its concern and strongly disagrees with the intention to fund additional human resource personnel from the Board's SLIPs budget and questions the validity of the actions taken against the SLIPs criteria.

  10. Top DISCRETIONARY FUNDING - ROSKILL COMMUNITY TRUST

    Moved: Barter/Turnbull

    1. That the discretionary funding application from the Roskill Community Trust be received.
    2. That the Mt Roskill Community Board approves the allocation of $337.50 from its 2009/2010 discretionary funding budget to the Roskill Community Trust to purchase materials in order to facilitate marriage enrichment courses in the Mt Roskill area.
    3. That the Roskill Community Trust be requested to provide an accountability statement to the Mt Roskill Community Board as well as to provide testimony from attendees as to the value of the course following expenditure of the $337.50.

  11. Top SH20 WATERVIEW POLITICAL LIAISON GROUP - FEEDBACK

    That the Mt Roskill Community Board provides the following feedback to the SH20 Waterview Political Liaison Group:

    • Support for on-ramps on south side of New North Road;
    • Priority to be given to the Owairaka shopping centre (Stoddard Road) mitigation due to the proximity of the motorway and traffic;
    • Ensure that the cycleway connects through to the north-western cycleway;
    • Green space that is taken/lost through Underwood Reserve to be replaced.

  12. Top FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTIONS UPDATE

    That the information memorandum dated 8 July 2009 from the financial contributions coordinator entitled "Financial Contributions Update" be received.

  13. Top CHAIRPERSON'S REPORT

    The chairperson tabled a letter to the Mt Roskill SLIPs portfolio leader written in response to a resolution from item 7 of the June 2009 Mt Roskill Community Board meeting.

    A memorandum from group manager Arts Community and Recreation Policy providing an update on Monte Cecilia Park/Pah Homestead - TSB Bank Wallace Arts Centre was tabled.
