  3. Top CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES

    The minutes of the inaugural meeting of the Tamaki Community Board held on Wednesday, 14 November 2007 to be confirmed as a true and correct record.

  4. Top EXTRAORDINARY BUSINESS

    Section 46A(7) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (as amended) states:
    "An item that is not on the agenda for a meeting may be dealt with at that meeting if-
    (a) The local authority by resolution so decides; and
    (b) The presiding member explains at the meeting at a time when it is open to the public,-
      (i) The reason why the item is not on the agenda; and
      (ii) The reason why the discussion of the item cannot be delayed until a subsequent meeting."
    Section 46A(7A) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (as amended) states:
    "Where an item is not on the agenda for a meeting,-
    (a) That item may be discussed at that meeting if-
      (i) That item is a minor matter relating to the general business of the local authority; and
      (ii) The presiding member explains at the beginning of the meeting, at a time when it is open to the public, that the item will be discussed at the meeting; but
    (b) no resolution, decision, or recommendation may be made in respect of that item except to refer that item to a subsequent meeting of the local authority for further discussion."
  5. Top PUBLIC FORUM

    A period of time (approximately 20 minutes) is set aside for members of the public to address the meeting on matters within its delegated authority. A maximum of 5 minutes per item is allowed, following which there may be questions from members.

    The following requests have been received to address the meeting:

    5.1. HOME INTERACTION PROGRAMME FOR PARENTS AND YOUNGSTERS (H.I.P.P.Y), GLEN INNES - ANNE-MARIE COURY

    Ms Anne-Marie Coury wishes to address the Board regarding the work that Home Interaction Programme for Parents and Youngsters (H.I.P.P.Y), Glen Innes does for the community.

    5.2. KURA KAUPAPA MAORI O PUAU TE MOANANUI A KIWA - DANIELLE BERGIN, ISLAND CHILD CHARITABLE TRUST NZ

    Ms Danielle Bergin, Island Child Charitable Trust NZ wishes to address the Board regarding the work that the Kura Kaupapa Maori O Puau te Moananui a Kiwa organisation does for the community.

  6. Top GLEN INNES WALKING AND CYCLING IMPROVEMENTS

    Presenting the Board with the proposed Glen Innes walking and cycling study and seeking the Board's approval to proceed with the community consultation on the proposed improvements.

    Recommending that the Board endorse the proposal in principle to improve walking and cycling in Glen Innes.

  7. Top PROPOSED OTAHUHU CYCLING AND WALKING IMPROVEMENTS

    Reporting on the proposed first stage of the cycling and pedestrian improvements in Otahuhu and seeking approval from the Board to proceed with the public consultation on the proposed improvements.

  9. Top GLEN INNES BUSINESS ASSOCIATION - REQUEST FOR EVENTS FUNDING - ADRIANA BADER

    Attaching an Events Funding application from the Glen Innes Business Association seeking funding towards the costs of hosting the Glen Innes Arts and Cultural day on 5 April 2008.

    Recommending that the Board consider the application.

  10. Top DISCRETIONARY FUNDING

    10.1. GLEN INNES CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY COOKS - REQUEST FOR DISCRETIONARY FUNDING - PATRICK MCNAMARA

    Attaching a Discretionary Funding application from the Glen Innes Christian Community Cooks seeking funding towards the costs of Christmas dinner for struggling people in the Glen Innes community.

    Recommending that the Board consider the application.

    10.2. MAUNGAREI COMMUNITY CHRISTIAN TRUST - REQUEST FOR DISCRETIONARY FUNDING - TRACY WINTHER

    Attaching a Discretionary Funding application from the Maungarei Community Christian Trust seeking funding towards the costs of after school care programme at the Riverside Community Centre.

    Recommending that the Board consider the application.

    10.3. AUCKLAND REGION COMMUNITY BOARDS ASSOCIATION ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP

    The Board is asked whether it wishes to renew its annual membership subscription ($250) to the Auckland Region Community Boards Association, to be funded from its discretionary funding budget.

  14. Top 2007/2008 SMALL LOCAL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECTS SPOKESPERSONS

    Recommending that the Board assign a spokesperson to the Small Local Improvement Projects in the attached schedule.

  15. Top SCHEDULE OF MEETINGS - YEAR 2008 TO 2010

    Recommending that the Board approves the proposed schedule of meetings for 2008 through to 2010.

  16. Top PROVISION FOR URGENT DECISIONS

    The Board does not meet again until January 2008. It is possible that matters may arise between 27 November 2007 and the next Board meeting which require urgent attention. Any decisions would be reported back to the Board at its January meeting.

    The Board is asked to make provision for any urgent decisions over the summer recess.

  17. Top REMUNERATION - ALLOCATION FOR 2007-2010

    Attaching a report prepared by the Deputy Mayor for the Board's consideration.

    The Council, at its meeting held on Thursday, 1 November 2007, considered an item regarding "2007 - 2010 Committee Structures and Regulatory Responsibilities" and resolved inter alia as follows:

    1. That a working party consisting of the deputy mayor as chair, Councillor Northey and Councillor Armstrong consider proposed elected member remuneration set out in 3.4 and appendix one and invite comment on any relevant issues from the councillors and community board representatives. The deputy mayor to report back to council following these discussions on the recommended remuneration structure.

    Recommending that comments on the proposed remuneration for 2007 - 2008 be sent to the remuneration working party by 3 December 2007.

  18. Top DAVID LANGE MEMORIAL PARK

    At its meeting on 26 September 2007 the Public Art Sub-committee considered the report of the Senior Arts Planner, dated 6 September 2007, it was resolved as follows:

    1. That the Public Art Subcommittee endorse the proposal to fund $80,000 landscaping costs of the David Lange Memorial artwork over two years, 2007/2008 and 2008/2009, from the Citywide Artworks Fund.
    2. That officers continue working with the David Lange Memorial Trust project manager, Deborah White, and the artist, Virginia King, to integrate the David Lange Memorial Artwork into stage two of the Otahuhu Recreation Precinct development project.
    3. That the report by the Senior Arts Planner and these resolutions be forwarded to the Tamaki Community Board, the Arts, Culture and Recreation Committee and the David Lange Memorial Trust.

    The report is attached for the Board's information.

    Recommending that the report be received.

  19. Top CORRESPONDENCE RECEIVED - OTAHUHU STEERING GROUP

    Correspondence from the Otahuhu Steering Group regarding the Otahuhu Liveable Community Plan update, has been received.

    Recommending that the correspondence be received.

    Providing the Chairperson with an opportunity to update the Board on the projects and issues she has been involved with since the last meeting.
