  2. Top CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES

    The minutes of the Tamaki Community Board meeting held on Tuesday, 22 July 2008 to be confirmed as a true and correct record.

  3. Top EXTRAORDINARY BUSINESS

    Section 46A(7) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (as amended) states:
    "An item that is not on the agenda for a meeting may be dealt with at that meeting if-
    (a) The local authority by resolution so decides; and
    (b) The presiding member explains at the meeting at a time when it is open to the public,-
      (i) The reason why the item is not on the agenda; and
      (ii) The reason why the discussion of the item cannot be delayed until a subsequent meeting."
    Section 46A(7A) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (as amended) states:
    "Where an item is not on the agenda for a meeting,-
    (a) That item may be discussed at that meeting if-
      (i) That item is a minor matter relating to the general business of the local authority; and
      (ii) The presiding member explains at the beginning of the meeting, at a time when it is open to the public, that the item will be discussed at the meeting; but
    (b) no resolution, decision, or recommendation may be made in respect of that item except to refer that item to a subsequent meeting of the local authority for further discussion."
  4. Top PUBLIC FORUM

    A period of time (approximately 20 minutes) is set aside for members of the public to address the meeting on matters within its delegated authority. A maximum of 5 minutes per item is allowed, following which there may be questions from members.

    The following requests have been received to address the meeting:

    4.1. ADRIANA BADDER - GLEN INNES BUSINESS ASSOCIATION

    Adriana Badder of Glen Innes Business Association requested to address the Board in support of their event funding application. The application was not received by the time the agenda went to print.

  6. Top LIVEABLE STREETS PROGRAMME / SELF EXPLAINING ROADS PROJECT UPDATE

    Reporting to the Board on the self explaining roads project. The self explaining roads project is looking at ways to retrofit and improve the safety and sustainability of the urban environment and to significantly contribute to the improved liveability and sense of community in local residential streets.

    Recommending that the Board supports the principles for self-explaining roads, by changing the current environment through self-explaining roads project that encourages a greater community use of these streets for walking and cycling, and significantly contribute to the improved liveability and sense of community in those streets report.

  7. Top SMALL LOCAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS (SLIPS) PROGRAMME UPDATE AUGUST 2008

  8. Top SMALL LOCAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS (SLIPS) PROJECT PROPOSALS AUGUST 2008

    Recommending that the Board considers the proposed SLIPS applications.

    Helen Cheng Community Arts Coordinator wishes to address the Board regarding the Otahuhu Banner Launch Project.

  10. Top GLEN INNES WALKING AND CYCLING IMPROVEMENTS UPDATE SUMMARY OF COMMUNITY CONSULTATION RESPONSES

    Updating the Board on the proposals for improving cycling and walking in Glen Innes.

    Providing the Board with a summary on the outcome of the consultation carried out from 18 February to 27 March 2008 seeking feedback on the proposals for improving cycling and walking in Glen Innes.

  11. Top ELECTION HOARDINGS

  12. Top SOCIAL SERVICES TO FAMILIES AND CHILDREN - REQUEST FOR DISCRETIONARY FUNDING - ANGLICAN TRUST FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN

    Attaching a discretionary funding application from the Anglican Trust for Women and Children seeking funding towards the costs of purchasing materials including books and DVDs that will teach parents about parenting.

    Recommending that the Board considers the application.

  13. Top CORRESPONDENCE

    13.1. CORRESPONDENCE RECEIVED - PROGRESSIVE PANMURE BUSINESS ASSOCIATION

    Correspondence from the Progressive Panmure Business Association thanking the Board for its 2008/2009 Discretionary Funding grant of $500 to assist with a local schools sports kit incentive programme.

    Recommending that the correspondence be received.

    13.2. CORRESPONDENCE RECEIVED - PANMURE COMMUNITY ACTION GROUP

    Correspondence from the Panmure Community Action Group thanking the Board for its 2008/2009 Discretionary Funding grant of $200 to assist with the costs of community communication.

    Recommending that the correspondence be received.

    Providing the Chairperson with an opportunity to update the Board on the projects and issues she has been involved with since the last meeting.
