MINUTES OF THE EXTRAORDINARY MEETING OF THE TAMAKI COMMUNITY BOARD

HELD ON WEDNESDAY, 14 NOVEMBER 2007 AT 6:00PM

1. APOLOGIES

   Moved: Cr Christian/ O'Brien

   That the apology from Councillor Northey for non-attendance be accepted.

   CARRIED

2. DECLARATION BY COMMUNITY BOARD MEMBERS PURSUANT TO SCHEDULE 7, CLAUSE 14, OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 2002

   The following Community Board Members made their declarations pursuant to Schedule 7, Clause 14, of the Local Government Act 2002:

   • Councillor Leila Boyle
   • Councillor Bill Christian
   • Ms Arna Metcalfe
   • Mr Mike Murray
   • Ms Christine O'Brien
   • Ms Kate Sutton
   • Mrs Jan Welch

   CARRIED

3. ELECTION OF CHAIRPERSON

   The Democracy advisor called for nominations for Chairperson of the Tamaki Community Board.

   One nomination

   There was one nomination, that of Kate Sutton. There being no other nominations the Democracy advisor put the motion.

   Moved: Welch/ Murray

   That Kate Sutton be appointed as Chairperson of the Tamaki Community Board.

   CARRIED

4. DECLARATION BY CHAIRPERSON PURSUANT TO SCHEDULE 7, CLAUSE 14, OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 2002

   The Chairperson, Kate Sutton, made his/her declaration pursuant to Schedule 7, Clause 14 of the Local Government Act 2002 and assumed the chair.

   CARRIED

5. DEPUTY CHAIRPERSON

   This item was deferred to the next meeting of the board.

6. GENERAL EXPLANATION OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT LEGISLATION

   Moved: Sutton/ Welch

   1. That the general explanation of Local Government Legislation including laws affecting Community Boards be noted.
   2. That the Team manager, Transport and Finance, be thanked for her presentation.

   CARRIED

7. FIRST MEETING OF THE WESTERN BAYS COMMUNITY BOARD

   Moved: Sutton/ Cr Boyle

   That the first meeting of the Tamaki Community Board be held on Tuesday, 27 November 2007 in the Otahuhu Town Hall, 10-16 High Street, Otahuhu commencing at 6.00pm and the general nature of the business to be brought before that meeting will be notified in the agenda.

   CARRIED

8. DECLARATION OF RESULTS OF ELECTION

   Moved: Sutton/ Cr Christian

   That the Electoral Officer's official declaration of Results of Election and the confirmation of Councillor appointments to Community Boards be noted.

   CARRIED

   There being no further business the Chairman declared the meeting closed at 6:25pm.
