MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE WAIHEKE COMMUNITY BOARDHELD ON WEDNESDAY, 7 NOVEMBER 2007 AT 3:30PM

1. APOLOGIES

   There were no apologies.

2. DECLARATION BY COMMUNITY BOARD MEMBERS PURSUANT TO SCHEDULE 7, CLAUSE 14, OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 2002

   The following Community Board Members made their declarations pursuant to Schedule 7, Clause 14, of the Local Government Act 2002:

   • Mr Nobilangelo Ceramalus
   • Mr Ray Ericson
   • Mrs Eileen Evans
   • Councillor Denise Roche
   • Mr Herb Romaniuk
   • Mr Tony Sears

3. ELECTION OF CHAIRPERSON

   The Democracy Advisor called for nominations for Chairperson of the Waiheke Community Board.

   There was one nomination, that of Ray Ericson. There being no other nominations the Democracy Advisor put the motion.

   Moved: Sears/Romaniuk/

   That Ray Ericson be appointed as Chairperson of the Waiheke Community Board for the 2007-2010 term.

   CARRIED

4. DECLARATION BY CHAIRPERSON PURSUANT TO SCHEDULE 7, CLAUSE 14, OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 2002

   The Chairperson, Ray Ericson, made his declaration pursuant to Schedule 7, Clause 14 of the Local Government Act 2002 and assumed the chair.

5. DEPUTY CHAIRPERSON

   The Chairperson called for nominations for the position of Deputy Chairperson.

   There was one nomination, that of Tony Sears. There being no other nominations the Chairperson put the motion.

   Moved: Ceramalus/Evans

   That Tony Sears be appointed as Deputy Chairperson of the Waiheke Community Board for the 2007-2010 term.

   CARRIED

6. GENERAL EXPLANATION OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT LEGISLATION

   Moved: Ericson/Sears

   1. That the general explanation of Local Government Legislation including laws affecting Community Boards, be noted.
   2. That the General Manager, City Development, be thanked for his presentation.

   CARRIED

7. FIRST MEETING OF THE WAIHEKE COMMUNITY BOARD

   Moved: Ericson/Romaniuk

   That the first meeting of the Waiheke Community Board be held on Wednesday, 21 November 2007, in the Boardroom, Waiheke Service Centre, Ostend, commencing at 3:45pm, and the general nature of the business to be brought before that meeting will be notified in the agenda.

   CARRIED

8. DECLARATION OF RESULTS OF ELECTION

   Moved: Roche/Evans

   That the Electoral Officer's official declaration of results of the Waiheke Community Board 2007 election and the confirmation of Councillor appointments to Community Boards be noted.

   CARRIED

   There being no further business the Chairperson declared the meeting closed at 4:04pm.
