DECLARATION BY COMMUNITY BOARD MEMBERS PURSUANT TO SCHEDULE 7,
CLAUSE 14, OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 2002
In accordance with
the provisions of the Local Government Act 2002 (Schedule 7, clause 14) the
General manager, Transport, by way of Memorandum from the Chief executive dated
4 October 2007, is authorised to administer the members' declarations at this
meeting.
The declaration of
Community Board members will be made and signed by each board member and
witnessed by the General manager.
ELECTION OF CHAIRPERSON
In accordance with
Schedule 7, clause 21(5)(b) of the Local Government Act 2002, the Democracy
advisor will call for nominations for the chairperson of the Western Bays
Community Board.
The Board must
appoint a member to this position in accordance with Schedule 7, clause 25 of
the Act, noting that no member has a casting vote.

this meeting.
The declaration of the Chairperson
will be signed by the Chairperson and witnessed by the General manager,
Transport.
The chairperson will assume the chair for the remainder of the
meeting.
DEPUTY CHAIRPERSON
The Board is
required to appoint a Deputy Chairperson at this meeting.

In accordance with
the requirements of section 54(2) and clause 21(5)(c) of Schedule 7 to the Local
Government Act 2002, a general explanation of certain laws affecting members of
the Community Board is contained in the attached documentation:
- the
Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987;
- the
Local Authorities [Members' Interests] Act 1968;
- sections
99, 105 and 105A of the Crimes Act 1961;
- the
Secret Commissions Act 1910; and
- the
Securities Act 1978.
The Team manager,
Transport and Finance Democracy services will provide an overview of Laws
affecting Community Boards.
Recommending that
the general explanation of Local Government Legislation including laws affecting
Community Boards be noted.

FIRST MEETING OF THE WESTERN BAYS COMMUNITY BOARD

Pursuant to the
requirements of Clauses 21(5)(d) and 22(1)(a) of Schedule 7 of the Local
Government Act 2002, a date has to be set for the first meeting of the Western
Bays Community Board. It is recommended that this meeting is held on the
Tuesday, 20 November 2007. As this date does not allow notification in
accordance with the provisions of Clause 19 of Schedule 7 of the Local
Government Act 2002, this meeting will be an extraordinary meeting.
Recommending that
the first meeting of the Western Bays Community Board be held on Tuesday, 20
November 2007 in the Auditorium, Freemans Bay Community Hall, 52 Hepburn Street,
Freemans Bay commencing at 6:30pm and the general nature of the business to be
brought before that meeting will be notified in the agenda.

attached.
Confirmation of Ward
Councillor appointments to Community Boards was made at Council's swearing-in
meeting on Wednesday, 24 October 2007.
Recommending that
the Electoral Officer's official declaration of Results of Election and the
confirmation of Councillor appointments to Community Boards be noted.
