25 May 2009 |
Providing a summary of the submission process and the
information and statistics on issues raised in the submissions received in
response to Auckland City Council's draft 10-year plan.
High level analysis has been carried out on all the
consultation feedback. This is a combination of percentage analysis, and
interrogation of the more detailed feedback.
In summary,
respondents agreed with:
- Keeping rates as low as
possible
- Holding rates to the
level of inflation, even if it meant cutting some projects
- Having a herd of
elephants at Auckland Zoo
- and respondents disagreed with:
- Paying extra for extra
services
- Paying extra for extra
services, even when the economic climate improves
- Changing the proportion
of the UAGC
- Paying a targeted rate
for the Rugby World Cup
Due to the late submissions received and the timeline of
preparing this report, some of the detailed feedback from the submissions has
not been fully analysed. This further work will be provided prior to Combined
Committees.
Recommending that the public submissions and research results be received and
considered during the final 10-year plan decision-making process.
