MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE REGIONAL GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE

HELD ON WEDNESDAY, 11 JUNE 2008 AT 7:30 AM

  2. Top CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES

    That the minutes of the Regional Governance Committee meeting held on Thursday, 15 May 2008 be confirmed as a true and correct record.

  3. Top EXTRAORDINARY BUSINESS

    There was no extraordinary business.

  4. Top PUBLIC FORUM

    There were no requests to speak in public forum.

  5. Top ROYAL COMMISSION ON AUCKLAND GOVERNANCE: PUBLIC HEARING APPROACH

    1. That the Regional Governance Committee notes:
      1. the contents of the report and supporting attachment
      2. that Auckland City Council's public hearing time and date has been confirmed for Tuesday, 24 June 2008 at 9:30 am
      3. that a draft council response on the Royal Commission's research paper, "Transport Governance in Auckland: situation analysis" (see Attachment 5), be presented at the next committee meeting on Tuesday, 17 June 2008.
    2. That the Regional Governance Committee agrees:
      1. to the Transport Committee members being invited to the Committee meeting on 17 June 2008 to be involved in the review and approval of Council's submission on the Royal Commission's research paper, "Transport Governance in Auckland: situation analysis", Barry Mein, City Scope Consultants, May 2008
      2. to the approved Council response on the Royal Commission's research paper, "Transport Governance in Auckland: situation analysis", being presented as part of Council's public hearing tabled information on 24 June 2008.
    3. That the Regional Governance Committee confirms the proposed public hearing approach, in particular, having clear messages, explanations by way of examples and emphasis on both the regional and local benefits to be delivered.

    CARRIED

    There being no further business the Chairperson declared the meeting closed at 9:06 am.
