MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE  REGIONAL GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE

HELD ON TUESDAY, 17 JUNE 2008 AT 10:35 AM

    That the apology from Councillor Doug Armstrong for non-attendance be accepted.

  2. Top CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES

    That the minutes of the Regional Governance Committee meeting held on Wednesday, 11 June 2008 be confirmed as a true and correct record.

  3. Top EXTRAORDINARY BUSINESS

    There was no extraordinary business.

  4. Top PUBLIC FORUM

    There were no requests to speak in public forum.

  5. Top COUNCIL SUBMISSION ON ROYAL COMMISSION TRANSPORT GOVERNANCE RESEARCH PAPER

    1. That the Regional Governance Committee notes:
      1. the contents of the report and the draft submission in response to the Royal Commission's research paper, "Transport Governance in Auckland: situation analysis".
      2. the Commission's media release of 13 June 2008 advising that public hearings will be undertaken on Great Barrier Island on 27 June 2008 and Waiheke Island on 10 July 2008.
    2. That the Regional Governance Committee approves the amended attached draft submission as council's response to the Commission's transport research paper, delegating to the Chairs of the Regional Governance Committee and Transport Committee the authority to make any minor editorial and typographic changes.
