  5. Top 61-73 DAVIS CRESCENT, NEWMARKET - HEARING OF OBJECTION TO NOTICE TO INSTALL STORMWATER DRAINS

    Denise McKenzie
    Democracy advisor 21 October 2008

Following consideration of this matter at its September 2008 meeting, the Specialist Hearings sub-committee resolved to defer the item until its 7 October meeting pending the provision of additional information from Council regarding the feasibility and practicality of an alternative route for the public stormwater pipeline proposed beneath 61-73 Davis Crescent, Newmarket.

At its 7 October meeting, the sub-committee agreed that the matter be deferred until this meeting to enable the objector to provide specific written concerns relating to the property at 61-73 Davis Crescent if the deep tunnel option was to proceed, and a written response to the engineering and traffic assessment prepared by the Council.

Attached is the report provided to the sub-committee's 7 October meeting, together with a response from Traffic Planning Consultants Ltd dated 20 October 2008 to the engineering and traffic assessments.

Recommending that the sub-committee determines whether to abandon the works proposed, or to proceed therewith with or  without such alteration as it thinks fit.
