    That the minutes of the Auckland City Youth Council meeting held on Monday, 18 August 2008 be confirmed as a true and correct record.

    That the draft memo regarding Converse 2008 be received and forwarded to the appropriate Community Board Youth Spokespersons and schools.

  9. Top ROAD SAFETY PROJECT UPDATE

    Melanie Turner, Road Safety Coordinator - Cycling and Walking, presented further information on the Road Safety Project specifically in Newmarket/Broadway.

    That the verbal update from the Road Safety Coordinator - Cycling and Walking regarding the road safety project be received and that she be thanked for her presentation.

  10. Top YOUTH COUNCIL WEB PAGES PROJECT UPDATE

    That the information regarding the Youth Council web pages project be received and that the team be requested to compile data for an update of the website and report to the October 2008 meeting of the Youth Council.

    Youth Council member Catherine Tamaseu-Russell regarding:

    • Attended recent Avondale Community Board meeting and met all Community Board members, encourage Youth Council members to attend individual meetings to network and discover issues in local community. No youth facility in Avondale - Community Board are passionate to support this initiative
    • Applied for job with Mai FM

    Youth Council member Rebecca Kennedy regarding:

    • Enrolled 3 young persons to vote in upcoming general election

    Youth Council member Dexter Henderson regarding:

    • Enrolled 5 young persons to vote in upcoming general election
    • Involvement in various Youth Council project meetings eg. Converse, website and walking/road safety

    Youth Council member Nive Sharat Chandran regarding:

    • Commencement of driving campaign in Mt Roskill area

    Youth Council member Xinan Zhang regarding:

    • Enrolled 5 young persons to vote in upcoming general election
    • Mufti day on Friday, 19 September 2008, to raise funds for Oxfam

    Youth Council member Jayran Mansouri regarding:

    • Upcoming trip to Tahiti with school French class
    • Practice exams

    Youth Council member Kathryn Mitchener regarding:

    • Enrolled 2 young persons to vote in upcoming general election
    • Practice exams
