    This resolution is made in reliance on Section 48(1)(a) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 and the particular interest or interests protected by section 6 or section 7 of that Act which would be prejudiced by the holding of the whole or relevant part of the proceedings of the meeting in public are as follows:

  6. Top PROPOSED CALENDAR OF AUCKLAND CITY SPONSORED EVENTS FOR 2006/2007

    Secretarial Note:

    This item was considered in the confidential section of this meeting where it was resolved as follows:

    1. That the Economic Development and Sustainable Business Committee and Arts, Culture and Recreation Committee endorse the proposed sponsored Events Calendar 2006/07 in its entirety, subject to officer negotiations on the terms of the sponsorship to ensure the City receives all benefits of a sponsor commensurate with its investment.
    2. That the Economic Development and Sustainable Business Committee and Arts, Culture and Recreation Committee approve the sponsorship of the following events in excess of $40,000 plus GST. Approval shall be subject to officer negotiations on the terms of the sponsorship to ensure the City receives all benefits of a sponsor commensurate with its investment:

    2. ...... Celebrate Pasifika................................. TOTAL: $70,000
    3. ...... Air NZ Fashion Week........................... TOTAL: $130,000

    (plus $29,874 from the City's Accommodation Fund)

    Note: The Auckland Harbour Festival has been pre-approved via the City's 2006 Long-Term Council Community Plan (LTCCP) process.

    1. That the joint committees note that Auckland Festival is a signature event receiving $1.0M from Council.
    2. That the committee notes Auckland City continues to fund two icon events, Coca Cola Christmas in the Park and the Farmers Santa Parade, for the benefit of families throughout the region.
    3. That Auckland City fund The Mission Bay Jazz Festival at previous levels.
    4. That resolutions A-G be brought out into the open minutes.
    5. That the chairperson be delegated to approve an appropriate media release.

    There being no further business the Chairman declared the meeting closed at 1.05pm.
